Louis Heit is licensed in California as both a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and as a  Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).  He has worked in a wide variety of mental health, psychiatric, and social service settings for thirty years, with extensive experience both in direct clinical practice as well as in management, administration, and operations.  He specializes in substance abuse treatment, trauma recovery, and pain management, and has worked extensively with both active-duty and retired military and their families in addressing pre- and post-deployment adjustments and complications.  He also treats depression, anxiety, and mood disorders such as bipolar disorders, as well as anger and impulse control problems  Click here to learn more.   

In addition to his expertise in providing psychotherapy for a broad range of emotional, family, and behavioral issues, he works as a clinical supervisor and training therapist for several clinical programs, and has been a field instructor for social work and marriage and family therapy graduate study programs at four area universities.  Currently he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor, supervising graduate social work students and teaching foundation, advanced, and field coursework at the University of Southern California, Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work.  Click here to read more about these services.
